Terms of Service

Terms and conditions governing the use of the AnglerLog web application and services.

Operated by: STONE PLANNING
⚠️ Important Maritime & Angling Safety Notice: Fishing involves inherent risks related to tidal currents, steep coastlines, slippery rocks, weather changes, and open waters. AnglerLog provides estimations for recreational planning only. Always follow maritime laws, wear certified personal flotation devices (life jackets), and respect no-entry or restricted zones.

Article 1 (Introduction and Acceptance)

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and STONE PLANNING ("Operator", "we", "us", or "our") regarding your access to and use of the "AnglerLog" web application, Progressive Web App (PWA), and associated services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please discontinue using the Service immediately.

Article 2 (Service Description)

AnglerLog is an offline-first personal digital logbook tailored for recreational anglers to pin fishing spots on maps, log catches, track weather and tides, calculate compass bearings, and manage tackle setups.

All user data entered into the Application is saved in your local web browser storage (IndexedDB). STONE PLANNING does not automatically collect or maintain a cloud copy of your fishing locations or catch data.

Article 3 (User Responsibilities and Data Preservation)

Because the Service operates with a client-centric local storage model:

  • Backup Responsibility: The User is solely responsible for creating regular backups of their data using the JSON export utility provided within the Application.
  • Data Loss: STONE PLANNING shall not be held liable for any loss of fishing records, photographs, or spot coordinates caused by clearing browser caches, operating in incognito modes, storage cleanups, or hardware failure.
  • Device Security: The User is responsible for maintaining the physical and digital security of their device to prevent unauthorized access to their private notes.

Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)

When using the Service, Users must not engage in any of the following activities:

  1. Violating any applicable municipal, national, or maritime laws, port security regulations, or fisheries acts.
  2. Trespassing upon private properties, construction areas, dangerous breakwaters, or zones marked as "No Entry" or "Fishing Prohibited".
  3. Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the source code or proprietary algorithms of the Service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  4. Interfering with or disrupting the integrity, servers, or networks connected to the Service or third-party map/weather APIs through automated scrapers or denial-of-service attempts.
  5. Infringing upon any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights belonging to STONE PLANNING or any third party.

Article 5 (Intellectual Property Rights)

All copyrights, trademarks, design elements, software code, and intellectual property rights in and to the Service (excluding User-generated fishing photos and notes stored locally) belong to STONE PLANNING or its licensors.

Users retain full intellectual property ownership and confidentiality of the personal catch records and photographs stored on their devices.

Article 6 (Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability)

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy of tide curves, wave forecasts, wind speeds, or solunar activity predictions.

In no event shall STONE PLANNING, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, marine accidents, loss of fishing equipment, loss of data, or any other loss arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.

Article 7 (Modifications and Discontinuation)

STONE PLANNING reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time without prior notice. We may also amend these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Article 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court having jurisdiction over the location of STONE PLANNING.
